We can now say that 2026 has officially started also for me. Last week it has been finally time to take back the camera and start to film the first racing cars of 2026.
As you may have noticed, I managed to see two of the brand new F1 cars of the new era, the Racing Bulls VCARB 03 and the Ferrari SF-26. In both occasions the conditions weren't really the best, with temperatures under 0° and a wet track as well in Imola for the debut of the new Racing Bulls car, which also took to debut the new Red Bull-Ford power unit. At least both cars managed to make their laps without major dramas, despite the adverse weather conditions.
Personally, I think the new cars doesn't look bad at all, not better or worse compared to the previous ground-effect ones, just different and still looking good. And I also don't dislike both the Racing Bulls and Ferrari liveries, but also the other ones that I still didn't manage to see in real life. The sound of the engine is instead pretty much the same despite the new rules over the V6 power units. Some people heard differencies after the first few videos, but having heard both the Ford and Ferrari's sound it doesn't make a different noise.
Unfortunately this year the Imola GP is not taking place, so the only guarented event I will attend is Monza, but I'm working to find another race despite the calendar being already quite packed and some of the circuits definetly not video-friendly. But I will update you if something positive comes out.
Let's close with the anachronistic shakedown in Barcelona, held behind closed doors but with a detailed report of each day by the F1 channels themselves. Lot of people already complained about that situation so I will not write too much about that, also because what came out, with people hacking the livetiming system and taking videos and photos from the outside, already speaks for me. Honestly, I think this is just another missed opportunity for F1 to give an impression that they care about the fans, which now is clearly not the case.
See you very soon and stay tuned for more videos!!!
